Shigaraki Art Festival 2010
In this fall 2010, the “Shigaraki Art Festival 2010” will be held in this Shigaraki as the stage. Not only exhibitions at the Shigaraki Ceramic Cultural Park (Togei no Mori) or Miho Museum etc, but also various art events on the theme of ceramics will be held in Shigaraki area.
We hope that people would take full pleasure in fall and Shigaraki while visiting shops or kilns with a guide map.

Overview
■「Life Ceramics Exhibition」at Industrial Exhibition Hall, Togei no Mori
Ceramic arts have produced rich life in various modern life styles. Displaying ceramics which are rooted in daily life on the suggestion “the comfortable life with Shigaraki Ware”. We will gaze into our lives closely related with ceramics through magnificent products valuing design and functionality, and ceramic histories of each season.
■「Shigaraki Ceramics Exhibition」at Shigaraki Traditional Craft Center etc.
Exhibition of the Shigaraki Ware history and various exhibitions by potters related with Shigaraki. Also, there are tours of kilns or ateliers, and exhibitions of unique spaces utilizing nonoperating plants, warehouses or empty stores in the area.
■「Japan’s Six Ancient Kilns Summit」at Industrial Exhibition Hall, Togei no Mori (Oct. 1~2)
Bizen, Tanba, Echizen, Shigaraki, Seto & Tokoname with thousand-year history and tradition Mayors from the Six Ancient Kilns cities assemble together for symposiums and exchange programs.
■「Tours or Walks in Shigaraki」 Shigaraki area in Koka City
Please walk around this highland area, experiencing the arts or visiting kilns or shops. You can find delicious meals or souvenirs only seen in Shigaraki. (We will provide free tour maps.)

■「Programs about Asamiya Tea」at Asamiya Branch, JA Koka etc.
Displaying and introducing Asamiya-cha which is one of the Japan’s Five Choice Teas, and traditional Shigaraki craftworks with a culture of green tea.
■「Programs about Shigaraki Palace」at Miya-machi Community Center, Miya-machi Ruins Research Office, Kinose Cultural Property Office, etc.
Introducing of the origin of Shigaraki history through exhibitions or strolls on the theme of Shigaraki Palace gained attention of Japanese history funs.
